Short and
Sweet #10

Take
the Long Way Home
How often do you look out
your window? The window of your car?
Sure, we watch for the next red light, the next traffic jam - but what about
the brilliant red of that light? Do we look at the panic on the faces of others
- or try to figure out why they are smiling? What song are they singing?
Why?
Want more to look at - try a new way home. Give yourself five extra minutes
and take the long road home. Take a tour of an untravelled road. Drive slowly
through your downtown - or patrol a pasture of cows...
If you're feeling brave, take a quick right turn.
Lose yourself. What do you see? What do you find?
Then... pull over in a safe place. Take a few notes with the pen and notebook
you keep in your car - just for moments like this!
If you are inspired to write about something else, go for that, too. The idea
is - stretch your boundaries. Take a look around.
And write about it!
Then share it with others! We all need a road less travelled!
